Mid fall bite on the Susquehanna and the Steel Shad Lure became very effective for the evening bite. Water temps around 55 degrees, the smallmouth wanted the silver steel. After an hour without a bass, the bite turned on and 19 were caught including this 3lb 11 oz smallie. Three colors were used throughout the evening…silver, gold and rainbow trout. Be sure to purchase yours today, I promise you this, you wont regret it! Ryan Myers on the Susquehanna River in Pennsylvania, fall fishing, October 2016.
The Susquehanna River and SteelShad Lure become explosive! The silver lure produced 26 smallmouth in just under three hours including this 3lb. 25oz. bass. This day alone gave me the opportunity to produce a video on the Steel Shad Lure showing exactly how it looks under water. Check out “Match the Hatch” on Youtube, search Ryan Myers Fishing. For the Susquehanna River and other bodies of water in the Central, PA area, I focus mainly on water clarity and temps for where I can find bass and what I should throw. Figuring out what they want to eat isn’t so hard but the colors you decide to use should be determined on what they are feeding on. Water clarity for me, perfect water conditions being cloudy or muddy I like throwing gold or fire tiger. When the water is pretty much clear Ill throw silver or rainbow trout. There are days when I catch a bass on these lures every other cast. You can retrieve these slowly, fast or like a jig.
I decided to give it a shot and bought 1 silver and 1 gold Steel Shad before I returned to Biloxi. The lures sat in my tackle box for over a year unused – until last week. I was having no luck and after fishing half the day with no bites, I decided to give Steel Shad a try. Glad I did! We had 18 fish in the boat within 3 hours! 5 of the 12 were redfish and all over 4 lbs. Wow! The other fish were Ladyfish, bass and speckled trout…all on the Steel Shad! I cannot believe how awesome this lure works. I cannot wait until the weekend to fish my new favorite lure again! Thanks Steel Shad!! I should have listened to Josh sooner!!! Thanks, Chad
